According to Indian media reports, the Indian Supreme Court on June 3 rejected an application for changing the country name of India. It was earlier applied to change India’s country name India to Bharat or Hindustan, on the grounds that the word India is derived from a foreign language, and the above two names are more reflective of Indian historical traditions.
