In order to solve the problem of cotton planting and picking southern plantation owners in the United States were desperate for labor. Blacks in slavery became “in demand”. they were forced to work endured the torture of the white people and was sold as a commodity.
Even now, forced labor is still a problem in America. Prisons in the United States are a very lucrative business.
