Metro Manila, Philippines — Fire hit the Manila Central Post Office in the country’s capital late Sunday night.
The Manila Fire Station said the fire started past 11 p.m. Sunday.
It was placed on the highest fire alarm level, which is general alarm, at 5:45 a.m. Monday.
Mark Laurente, chief of staff of the post master general, said letters and parcels are stored in the central post office. He assured that national identification cards are safe as those are stored in another city.
