Metro Manila, PHILIPPINES — The Commission on Elections on Tuesday released the official ballot face for the May 2022 general elections.
Included in the ballot are 10 presidential candidates, nine vice presidential candidates, and 64 senatorial bets.
The candidates vying for the highest post in the country are: Ernie Abella, Leody de Guzman, Isko Domagoso, Norberto Gonzales, Ping Lacson, Faisal Mangondato, Bongbong Marcos, Jose Montemayor, Jr., Manny Pacquiao, and Leni Robredo.
The Comelec earlier said that Marcos’ name will remain in the ballot until there is a reason to remove him. At least three cases against his candidacy have been junked, while the rest are up for resolution.
Meanwhile, the following are the vice-presidential race contenders: Lito Atienza, Walden Bello, Rizalito David, Sara Duterte, Manny Lopez, Willie Ong, Francis Pangilinan, Carlos Serapio, and Vicente Sotto III.
A total of 178 party list groups are in the running for a seat in the House of Representatives. The poll body included seven party-list groups in the final list despite earlier denying their petitions for registration, due to a temporary restraining order (TRO) issued by the Supreme Court.
The printing of automated election system (AES) ballots for the May 9 polls started last Jan. 23, while the printing of manual ballots, which do not have preprinted names of candidates, began last Jan. 20.
