MANILA, Philippines — Face-to-face classes are suspended in parts of Luzon on Friday, Aug. 28, due to inclement weather brought by the southwest monsoon or “habagat.”

Metro Manila

  • City of Manila – no face-to-face classes (public and private); shift to alternative modes of learning
  • Marikina City – no face-to-face classes (public and private); shift to alternative modes of learning
  • Caloocan City – no face-to-face classes (public and private); shift to alternative modes of learning
  • Malabon City – no face-to-face classes (public and private); shift to alternative modes of learning
  • Quezon City – no face-to-face classes (public and private); shift to alternative modes of learning
  • Las Piñas City – no face-to-face classes (public and private)
  • San Juan City – no face-to-face classes (public and private); shift to alternative modes of learning
  • Taguig City – no face-to-face classes (public and private); shift to alternative modes of learning

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration earlier reported in a weather advisory that the southwest monsoon will bring rains over Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, and Western Visayas on Friday.
