A road in the Christchurch suburb of New Brighton has been closed after reports of shots being fired.
Police have cordoned off Bowhill Road between Marine Parade and Keyes Road roundabout.
A police spokesperson said as of yet, there are no reported injuries and inquiries are ongoing.
The first calls to police came in just after 10am today.
