PHILIPPINES—The Philippine National Police (PNP) recorded 174 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, which increased the total tally of infections in the organization to 32,239.
Of this number, 1,915 cases are active, data from the PNP Health Service showed.
Total recoveries climbed to 30,235 after 100 new recoveries were reported.
The death toll remained at 89.
The Department of Health (DOH) meanwhile on Friday reported 13,177 new COVID-19 cases, the highest daily infections reported since April 2 when over 15,000 new cases were logged.
The new infections also pushed the country’s active cases to 96,395, marking the first time that active cases surpassed 90,000 since April 24.
The DOH also announced that total recoveries climbed to 1,587,069 after 4,322 more patients recovered from the illness.
Meanwhile, 299 new fatalities brought the death toll to 29,838, also the highest since April 9.
