BAGUIO CITY — All 13 people trapped in the tragic landslide in the summer capital have been accounted as retrieval operations concluded on early Tuesday, Aug. 11, with 10 confirmed dead and three survivors.
Of the four people who remained missing as of 5:30 p.m. Monday (August 10), one was retrieved at 7 p.m., another at 8 p.m., and the final two were recovered at around 2 a.m. Tuesday, as work crews and volunteers dug through the rubble of three houses that were buried by a massive erosion that struck at night in Purok 2, Barangay Guisad Surong, on Sunday, (Aug. 9).
Ten others were declared dead following the recovery operation, among them children, the youngest of which was 2-years-old.
