MANILA, Philippines — Areas across Luzon may experience rains due to the southwest monsoon, locally known as habagat, the state weather bureau PAGASA said.
In a weather forecast on Tuesday, August 11, PAGASA said that the rest of Luzon may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to habagat.
Metro Manila, CALABARZON, Pangasinan, Benguet, Tarlac, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Marinduque, Romblon, Oriental Mindoro and Camarines Norte may also expect cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to habagat.
Occasional rains may also be expected in Zambales, Bataan and Occidental Mindoro.
The rest of the country may also experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, PAGASA said that it is monitoring a tropical cyclone outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
It is estimated to be at 3,355 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon, with maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour (kph) and gusts of up to 105 kph.
It is also moving east-northeastward at 25 kph.
