MANILA, Philippines — Some local government units (LGUs) suspended in-person classes on Thursday, August 13, due to heavy rains brought by the southwest monsoon.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration said the effects of the monsoon will prevail until Thursday.

Below is the running list of class suspensions for August 13, 2026:

Metro Manila

  • Valenzuela City – all levels, both public and private; shift to alternative delivery mode
  • Marikina City – all levels, both public and private
  • Malabon City – all levels, both public and private; shift to alternative delivery mode

Ilocos Region

  • Pangasinan
    • Dagupan City – all levels, both public and private
    • Binmaley – all levels, both public and private; shift to alternative delivery mode
    • Lingayen – all levels, public schools only
    • Mangaldan – all levels, both public and private; shift to alternative delivery mode
    • Calasiao – all levels, both public and private; government work also suspended
    • Labrador – all levels, both public and private; shift to alternative delivery mode
    • Sual – all levels, both public and private; shift to alternative delivery mode
    • Mangatarem – all levels, both public and private
    • Sta. Barbara – all levels, both public and private; shift to alternative delivery mode
    • Aguilar – suspension based on schools’ discretion

Cordillera Administrative Region

  • Benguet
    • Atok – preschool to senior high school until Friday, Aug. 14
    • Kabayan – preschool to senior high school

    • Buguias – preschool to elementary until Friday, Aug. 14
