Metro Manila, Philippines — After eleven straight weeks of increases, fuel prices will be going down this week, oil companies announced in separate advisories on Monday.
Caltex, Cleanfuel, Flying V, Petro Gazz, Petron, Phoenix, Total, and Unioil said they will slash per-liter prices of gasoline by ₱P5.45 and diesel by ₱11.45 effective 6 a.m. Tuesday, March 22.
Caltex, Flying V, Petron, and Unioil will also cut kerosene rates by ₱8.55 per liter on the same day.
The Department of Energy, which earlier projected a big-time rollback for this week, said in its latest oil monitor that as of March 15, prices of gasoline have gone up by ₱7.10-₱7.20 per liter since the start of 2022. By the liter, diesel costs have since risen by ₱12.00-₱13.25 per liter and ₱10.50 per liter for kerosene.
