The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has placed Bangladesh under Alert Level 1 as a precautionary measure in response to recent political demonstrations and civil unrest in the country.
The Foreign Affairs Department has warned m the “security situation can deteriorate without warning.”
There are approximately 700 Filipinos residing in Bangladesh
Under Alert Level 1, the DFA advises Filipinos in Bangladesh to exercise caution, restrict non-essential movement, remain vigilant, monitor and follow guidelines set by local authorities, always carry valid passports and residence visas, and register their details with the Philippine Embassy in Dhaka.
