The Auckland to Hobart service will be the airline’s first new international route since the Covid-19 pandemic started.

The first flight is set to depart at 9am on the 22 April and will operate on Thursdays and Sundays.

Chief executive Greg Foran said it is exciting to be launching a new route after a year of being predominantly a domestic airline.

“It’s really exciting to be launching a new route alongside reopening our other Australian ports after a year of being predominantly a domestic airline,” he said in a statement.

Foran said the non-stop service opens a direct link between Auckland and a potential 540,000 Tasmanian tourists.
