MANILA, Philippines — Moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are expected over Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon on Thursday morning, according to the state weather bureau.

In its thunderstorm advisory issued at 7:10 a.m., the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that Metro Manila and the following areas will experience the said weather conditions within the next two hours:

Meanwhile, it noted that the same weather conditions are already affecting Norzagaray in Bulacan and General Nakar, Polillo, and Burdeos in Quezon and may persist within two hours.

The weather bureau then advised the public “to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides.”

In a separate 5 a.m. weather forecast, Pagasa said that the intertropical convergence zone will bring cloudy skies and rains over Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao while the northeasterly wind flow will affect Extreme Northern Luzon and other parts of Luzon.
