The Department of Education is the most trusted and best-performing government agency, a survey conducted by OCTA Research showed.
In its Third Quarter Tugon ng Masa survey held from September 30 to October 4, DepEd got a 79 percent trust rating, followed by the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) at 75 percent, the Department of Health (DoH) at 74 percent, and the Department of Social Welfare and Development, 73 percent
The DepEd got its highest trust rating in the Visayas and Mindanao — 88 percent — while its lowest is in Balanced Luzon at 70 percent.
It also had the highest trust rating among socio-economic class D and E at 80 percent and 78 percent, respectively, while the lowest was in Class ABC at 69 percent.
DepEd also topped the list of the best-performing government agencies with an 80 percent performance rating, followed by DSWD at 75 percent, DPWH and DOH, 74 percent, and CHEd, 73 percent.
The Education department’s performance ratings across the country ranged from 72 percent to 91 percent, with the highest in the Visayas region at 91 percent, followed by Mindanao at 88 percent and Balanced Luzon at 72 percent.
The Department of Budget and Management had the lowest performance rating at 32 percent.
The survey had 1,200 respondents nationwide and a margin of error of plus or minus three percent nationwide and six percent across major regions.
