LIMAY, Bataan: A groundbreaking ceremony was held here on Friday, December 2, for the building of a P400-million government hospital.
Hausland Group President Willy Tan donated 2,000 square meters of lot at Seabreeze in Barangay St. Francis 2 for the hospital. His son, lawyer Ryan Tan, attended the groundbreaking on his behalf.
Gov. Jose Enrique “Joet” Garcia 3rd said the hospital is a realization of a project he started when he was still a congressman of the second district of Bataan.
He authored House Bill 8759, or an “Act establishing in the municipality of Limay in Bataan, a general hospital to be known as the Limay General Hospital.”
Second District Rep. Albert Garcia, the former Bataan governor, said that in about a year, the Limay hospital will be serving not only Limay residents but also the residents from neighboring towns in Bataan.
The former governor said the P400-million fund for building the hospital came from the provincial government, Limay municipal government, and Department of Public Works and Highways. Limay Mayor Nelson David and members of the Sangguniang Bayan are also grateful that a government hospital will rise in the town.
The DPWH second district engineer Ulyses Llado also attended the groundbreaking ceremony.
