Covid-19: 13 people have died in current Delta outbreak, Ministry of Health confirms

The Ministry of Health has clarified the current death toll in the current Covid-19 outbreak.

Thirteen people died in this outbreak, which included two deaths this week.

The total number of deaths since Covid-19 arrived in this country is now 41.

The ministry said the figures included all cases that died which were classified as an active case of Covid-19 at the time of death.

It said in some of these cases, the underlying cause of death may have been unrelated to the virus.

The total number of active Covid-19 cases sits at 4828.

Since the first case was recorded in this country in February 2020, 5525 people have recovered.
