PHILIPPINES— Weekday operating hours of malls in the National Capital Region (NCR) will be extended starting November 15, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced on Saturday.
The extended mall operating hours was in accordance with the MMDA Resolution No. 21-25, which was approved by the policy-making Metro Manila Council (MMC), which is composed of the 17 mayors in the region.
MMDA chairperson Benhur Abalos earlier said the malls had agreed to extend their operating hours.
The agency, however, emphasized that mall sales would be limited to weekends and holidays.
The NCR was placed under Alert Level 2 beginning November 5 until November 21.
Under Alert Level 2, establishments will be allowed to operate indoors at 50% capacity with additional 10% capacity if they have a safety seal. For outdoors, they will be allowed at 70%. — VBL, GMA News
