The total confirmed COVID-19 cases at the Philippine National Police went up to 33,184 on Saturday after 163 new infections were reported, data from the PNP Health Service showed.
Recoveries went up to 31,317 after 152 new cases recovered.
Active cases totalled 1,768 while the death toll remained at 99, same as on Friday.
The Philippines on Friday logged a new all-time high 17,231 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the nationwide tally to 1,807,800.
The country’s active cases climbed to 123,251, the highest since April 20.
The Department of Health also announced that total recoveries climbed to 1,653,351 after 5,595 more patients recovered from the illness.
Meanwhile, 317 new fatalities brought the death toll to 31,198. —KG, GMA News
