PHILIPPINES— Former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. gained a strong foothold in Mindanao based on street surveys, his camp said on Sunday.

It cited the series of Kalye (street) Surveys conducted recently by vloggers in different areas in Mindanao.

Marcos is running for president under the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas banner. He has yet to pick his running mate.

In the Kalye Surveys conducted by vloggers of Bugwak TV in Butuan City, Gingoog, Misamis Oriental, and Surigao City, Marcos was the “preferred candidate of the working class.”

Bugwak vloggers roamed busy streets, bus terminals, and marketplaces and randomly approached individuals or groups of people and asked them to choose from a list of presidential candidates, Marcos camp said in a statement.

Most of the respondents said that the former senator was “most qualified,” “has a clear program of government” and “has political will.”

“The real time, real man surveys mirrored the result of the recently published Presidential Preference Survey of PUBLiCUS Asia Inc. where Marcos got a whopping 62.5 percent voter preference in Mindanao,” Marcos’ camp said.
